Second Half show sinks Dolphins again…

Although OMBAC scored the first try of the day with a back line move off of a well executed driving maul and scored the last try of the half on a ferocious run by former Eagle Thretton Palamo, in his OMBAC debut, the rest of the 1st half was 100% Santa Monica as the Dolphins made OMBAC pay for any little mistake.

Santa Monica scored five tries in the half from picking errant OMBAC passes off the ground to blocked kicks to spinning turnover ball wide and racing down the sideline.  Santa Monica wasn’t able to convert any of the tries so the halftime score of 25-14 left OMBAC with some hope.  That hope seemed to slip away early in the 2nd half as Santa Monica scored first to stretch the lead to 32-14.

The game seemed to be clearly in Santa Monica’s hands but OMBAC kept composed and took it one try at a time over the last 30 minutes scoring 8 unanswered tries with 6 conversions and a penalty kick to tally 55 points in this stretch for a final score of 69-32.

OMBAC now sit on 18 points with four wins and two losses. Santa Monica drop to one win and seven losses.
