Santa Monica Men’s 7s Win Plate at Ventura

The men’s summer 7s campaign kicked off this past weekend with a social warm-up run out, winning Ventura 7s’ plate division. The Dolphins went 1-1-1 in pool play, with a win over SLO, a tie against Eagle Rock, and a narrow loss to Oceanside, dropping them into the plate division, where they went on to win in the plate semi and top Oceanside in the plate final rematch.

 For summer 7s, the men have joined forces with LA Soul, so look to see some familiar faces in next week’s home qualifier! The Soulphins!

Coaching this summer is Rob Newcomb, with Joey Krassenstein managing the squad and playing “just one more 7s season.” Also joining the summer campaign are numerous college boys from UCLA, USC and Loyola Marymount.

Men’s and women’s 7s practice at Tuesdays and Thursdays at JAMS in Santa Monica.
