U10s in action 2012

2012 kicks off the 9th season of Santa Monica Rugby’s youth rugby program, which has grown to include over 250 players from around Santa Monica and the Los Angeles.   Rugby team divisions range from U8 through U19 for both boys and girls. U10 and older are contact (tackle).

The 2012 pre-season starts in December, beginning with a Registration & Demonstration Day on Saturday, December 17th.

League play commences in January and goes through March for U8 & U10 teams, and April for age grades U12 and above.

Newcomers are always welcome! Safety and fun are the top priorities as our certified coaching staff teach individual skills and team tactics. Training is usually two evenings a week in Santa Monica (Clover Park, Penmar Park, or Airport Park).

2012 Registration Instructions

1)  Go to the Southern California Youth Rugby (SCYR) registration website –http://www.socalyouthrugby.org/Register.php

2)  Fill in all the information.

3)  Download the SMRC waiver form and fill it out.

4)  Either pay on-line at that site, or give us a check.

5)  Turn in Waiver form (and cash/check) to SMRC at your first practice.

2012 Club dues:

U-8 – $100

U-10 – $125

Girls U-14 & U-19 – $175

U-12, U-14, U-16, U-19 – $220

Sibling Discount ($-20)

Every registered player will receive a SMRC 40th Anniversary rugby ball!

For an additional $40, you can get team issue rugby shorts and socks.  Contact your team administrator about ordering a set.

Boys and girls who play with the Santa Monica Rugby Club train under the supervision and instruction of the highly skilled coaches and athletes of the SMRC coaching staff.

The SMRC coaching staff firmly believes that ALL youth players whether experienced or just beginning must be exposed to first class coaching at an early age in order to build a strong foundation.
